Abstract :
It is shown that, if dynamic effects and energy storage are not taken into account, the resulting mathematical model of a nonlinear characteristic can produce subharmonics only at exact input amplitudes. Thus such mathematical models are completely unstable with respect to small variations in that amplitude.
