Abstract
The characteristics of thin high-temperature superconductors (HTSs), and the requirements particular to devices made of these materials are described. The use of HTSs in filters and oscillators is examined. The need to fine tune the distributed-resonator elements used in these devices is discussed. The use of HTSs for digital IC interconnects and attendant cooling problems are considered. The benefits of combining HTS circuitry with cryogenically cooled non-HTS electronics are discussed.<>
