  • Abstract
    The Hamiltonian formalism is well suited to express the physical aspects of the equations of the motion. It is used here to describe the response of tunes and beta functions to a linear change in the guiding field. The proposed parametrization has proved to be effective in the representation of chromatic effects and H-V coupling.
