Abstract
The paper describes the formulation of the diffusion equation for magnetic fields in saturating ferromagnetic laminations. The local magnetisation process is described in terms of the gyromagnetic equations, and the coupling of the time-domain solution of the diffusion, gyromagnetic and circuit equations is described. Results show that the model describes measured fast-pulsed B-H loops in some detail, and that the combination of the eddy current and gyromagnetic losses deduced from calculated B-H loops may account for the measured losses in fast-pulsed cores.
