  • Abstract
    An algorithm for obtaining frame synchronisation which uses soft decision information from an FSK demodulator is described. The algorithm has been derived from the optimum rule for high SNR which was originally developed for ASK transmission. Simulation results are reported that show approximately 1 dB improvement over the pure correlation rule at interesting SNRs compared to a 3 dB gain offered by the ASK implementation.
