Abstract
The instrumentation requirements for monitoring the dynamic performance of electric power systems during major disturbances are reviewed in this report. The review includes a discussion of the data required for postdisturbance analysis and the desired characteristics of the instruments required for its acquisition. In addition, the report illustrates methods of realizing a versatile and comprehensive monitoring system using currently available technology.
