Abstract :
The application of the cavity reservoir dispenser cathode to long-life high-current-density cathodes for cathode-ray tubes (CRTs) and other vacuum devices is discussed. Fabrication techniques are described and data showing emission current versus temperature are presented. The data were obtained from tests conducted in actual CRT guns. The cathode described is expected to meet most, if not all, over the demands for high-resolution, high-brightness CRT displays as well as the low-cost, high-performance demands of traveling-wave tubes
