Abstract
In this paper, a study conducted to analyze the factors influencing the current transformer (CT) dimensioning for numerical relays is presented. The study identifies the factors contributing to the CT dimensioning. It analyzes the influence of system parameters on the dimensioning factor and also identifies the critical applications and conditions that determine the CT dimensioning. The errors introduced in phasor estimation of saturated current signals are also described in this study
