Abstract :
For pt.I see ibid., vol.34, no.6, p.1396-1400 (1988). Approximate expressions are obtained for the distribution of the change in phase of a narrowband Gaussian noise plus a sinusoid during a long time interval. The expressions are based on S.O. Rice´s results concerning the expected number of clicks in an FM receiver during the interval and on work stemming from his expression for the correlation function of the instantaneous frequency of narrowband Gaussian noise as well as his work on the statistical properties of a signal plus random noise
