  • Abstract
    Personal communication services (PCSs), whereby individuals carry small, inexpensive handheld communicators and can be reached by voice or data with a single phone number, wherever they may be, are discussed. Some early experiments with PCS systems are noted, and problems encountered or anticipated are examined. These include cost, infrastructure, and spectrum issues.<>
