Abstract :
This book is an outcome of the doctoral work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) of the first author, Dr. Zhu, under the supervision of Dr. Cangellaris, the second author. This is a research monograph, not an introductory-level textbook. As such, there are no exercises or problems. Although the central thrust of this book is multigrid methods, both geometric and algebraic, it provides an excellent overview of the current state of the art in many aspects of the Finite-Element Methods (FEM) applied to full-wave electromagnetics. The book has twelve chapters and one appendix. Each chapter concludes with an extensive list of references. The book is an excellent reference for serious students of the FEM in electromagnetics, and represents a most worthwhile addition to one´s library.
