Abstract
The authors consider the use of the recently discovered high-T c superconductors for suspension applications in magnetic recording. A theoretical derivation of suspension heights and dynamic response from an energy perspective is given along with experimental results. A positive suspension system for the recording head is developed that yields improved access times and stability over conventional air bearing gliders
