Abstract
A binary-weighted current generator that uses a weighted repetition-rate current-switching scheme is described. This scheme, as demonstrated in a monolithic MOS implementation, is rendered free from the disadvantages of a passive-resistive ladder network and is suitable for parallel-type digital-to-analog converter systems. Linearity and precision in excess of 12 bits, with no postprocessing adjustments, are demonstrated.
