Abstract :
The decay of electron density in an argon-plasma afterglow has been determined by analysis of the scattering of microwave radiation. The results are applicable to overdense plasmas and are in good agreement with a short-wavelength cutoff measurement; they lead to a reasonable value of the ambipolar diffusion coefficient.
