Abstract
The offshore oil and natural gas development to be found in the Arabian Sea, about 200 km west of Bombay is operated by the Oil & Natural Gas Commission of the Government of India. The communications between platforms and the control centre need to be sophisticated, accurate over long distances, multi-level and robust. The author discusses the telemetry and telecontrol systems for this complex. In particular the remote terminal units, the master station, the multi-channel FDM-FM UHF radio links between the remote well platforms and the master station, and the digital microwave links between adjacent complexes
