Abstract
A high-quality bipolar reference current source based on the bandgap of silicon is described that is independent of supply voltage and temperature variations. The circuit only uses identical n-p-n transistors processed in a conventional bipolar process. The circuit contains only a small number of components and needs no starting circuit.
