Abstract
Since the early days of broadcasting, the medium and long waves have been perceived as the near perfect medium for regional and national entertainment broadcasting. Although long wave is more stable it is also much more expensive. The author looks at the present trends for broadcasting including Radio Monte Carlo, one of the largest transmission networks in Europe, and the Roumoules site, a megawatt broadcast transmitter
