Abstract :
A general model for analyzing a salient-pole machine as well as a nonsalient-pole machine under steady-state conditions is developed. The classical two-reaction theory method is replaced by the present method to analyze synchronous machines with salient-rotors. The method presented is applied to a 6.25 kVA test machine with a salient-rotor and is found to give accurate results
