A Phased Approach to the Replacement of the Plant Computer Systems at Oconee Nuclear Station

After ten years of operation at the Oconee Nuclear Station, activities have begun that will ultimately result in the replacement of the original plant computer systems. This replacement is necessary in order to provide additional computer system capabilities (eg SPDS) as well as to resolve system maintainability concerns. An approach of phasing in the new system while phasing out the old system will be used to minimize any adverse effects on plant operations.
