Abstract :
Quantisation errors can cause nonlinear oscillations in recursive digital filters if the input signal is low or constant. Limit-cycle constraints are derived in terms of the feedback coefficients, the gain and the sampling ratio. These represent convenient ways of reducing nonlinear effects in the realisation of the recursive digital filter.
