Abstract
A qualitative analysis of densitization effects was presented in a previous paper where the values given were supported by actual field data and experience. A relatively simple semi-empirical computational method for several worst case scenarios is developed. A typical state-of-the-art VHF/FM mobile radio communications system is treated and analyzed for several cositing cases. Single distant transceivers located on different vehicles and cases where several transceivers are located on the same vehicle are also treated. The results of the analysis are presented both tabularly and graphically. Ways to improve the radio system are suggested to make it less prone to desensitization effects. With small modifications the computational method can be used to include other types of radio communications systems.
