Abstract :
An experimental investigation of an axially extracted virtual cathode oscillator is presented. The effect of the external magnetic field on the microwave output is studied. Maximum output power of 5+or-2 MW in the transverse electric (TE) modes is obtained. The microwaves are generated by the transmitted electron flow and the frequency ranges between 9.5 and 15 GHz.
