Abstract :
Proposed is a time-domain interleaving technique for increasing the transmission rate of a previously reported wavelength-swept light based WDM transmitter. With this technique, the bit rate of each channel can be multiplied without increasing the repetition frequency of the wavelength sweep and without severe inter-channel crosstalk. A four-channel 2.5 Gbit/s super dense WDM transmission experiment with two interleaved 1.25 Gbit/s data streams is demonstrated.
