Abstract :
A probabilistic approach based on the convolution technique for assessing the performance of utility-interactive photovoltaic systems supplying loads is presented. Analytical expressions are developed to obtain the duration curve for the power injected into the utility grid. The energy injected into the grid and drawn from it to supply the load during the study period can be calculated from this duration curve. The load model employed enables the study period to range from one year to one particular hour-of-day, thus allowing the inclusion of the time-value of energy as appropriate in economic assessments
