Abstract
The attenuation of a corrugated circular waveguide has been determined from a more exact solution of the boundary-value problem than that previously obtained by Clarricoats and Saha. A lower attenuation for the HE11 mode is predicted. Comparison is made with the attenuation of HE11 and HE01 modes in smooth-wall waveguides of comparable radius, and a useful advantage for the HE11 mode is revealed.
