Abstract
Calculations of the effects of polarised optical injection in VCSELs, allowing for spin interactions, are reported. New forms of dynamic behaviour that are not present in conventional optically-injected lasers are found for certain combinations of operating parameters. In particular a quasi-stable elliptically polarised locking state exists in a wide region of parameter space, characterised by small-amplitude sinusoidal variations of field components and carrier densities.
