Abstract
By downscaling channel spacing, we increase the bit rate of a dense wavelength division multiplexing system by factor of 2. We present a wavelength-time coding scheme, which reduces the impact of linear and nonlinear interchannel interference by about 2.5 and 3 dB, respectively.
