Abstract
Two automatic-repeat-request (ARQ) protocols using a concatenated coding scheme are described. The structure, introduced in a codeword of a concatenated coding scheme, is used to improve the performance of ARQ protocols, especially for high error rates in the communication channel. The performance of the scheme described herein is derived through theoretical analysis. The results show that the proposed scheme outperform other similar ARQ protocols
