  • Abstract
    The characteristics of aperture-coupled dual-patch rectangular microstrip antennas with an air gap between the substrates supporting the two patches are studied experimentally. It is demonstrated that further improvement in input SWR bandwidth can be obtained by offsetting, or allowing a horizontal displacement for, the upper patch with respect to the lower patch. Measurements on gain and radiation patterns are also presented.
