Abstract
A necessary and sufficient condition is presented for the normalized asymptotic
th power distortion of a mismatched multidimensional quantizer to converge to a certain optimum constant known as Bennett\´s integral. The dimensionality of our results is allowed to approach infinity in order to make some universal source coding comparisons to quantization theory.
