Abstract
Today´s tuners for TV and VCR show a trend toward smaller case dimensions and increased tuning ranges. The author presents a new mixer-IC which supports the development of such modern tunes by a two-band concept, resulting in minimized pin counting, low power consumption, good matching to the bandpass filter, a simple design-in, and low demand of PCB (printed circuit board) area. The RF data are comparable to those for prior mixer designs. The IC supports the development of a tuner which spans the whole VHF/UHF frequency range from 50 to 850 MHz
