Abstract
In the ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) network, a fixed-length packet (cell) which contains a header and an information field is used to provide integrated services, but bit error and cell loss error are inevitable. In order to cope with cell loss, pixel arrangement (PR) and block rearrangement (BR) are presented. The PR and BR are used for the concealment of ATM cell loss. This scheme is able to reduce the blocking effects and restore the sequential burst cell loss errors. Computer simulation shows that the concealment of even the burst cell loss improves the image quality
