  • Abstract
It is now widely recognized that technical design decisions about the Internet can have lasting impacts on public policy and individual rights. Stanford law professor Lawrence Lessig offered perhaps the most popular explanation of the "code is law" concept in Code and Other Laws of Cyberspace (Basic Books, 2000), but a rich literature exists on technology\´s impact on society and policy.
