Abstract :
The main inefficiency of a coupled nonlinear electromagnetic and mechanical problem is given due to the fact that the mechanical finite element mesh of different loose adjoined and compressed layers has in general not the ability to break apart at the interfaces for some constellations of acting electromagnetic forces. This inefficiency is overcome with the usage of floating potentials and static condensation in a practicable way.
