Abstract
A novel method of approximation of the layered media electromagnetic Green´s function is presented. In addition to its closed-form representation, a key attribute of the new approximation is coordinates of the source are kept as independent variables. The mathematical analysis of the accuracy of the approximate Green´s function is provided, along with results from its numerical validation.
