Abstract :
A revised theory of aperture coupling through a circular hole in the common ground plane between parallel image guides is presented. At W-band frequencies, theoretical results for the aperture coupling coefficient in forward and backward directions are confirmed by experiment and by numerical field simulations. Results obtained for the single aperture can be used for an improved design of multihole directional couplers in image guide technology.
