A portion of the material in the above paper by Abraham Kandel and William J. Byatt, which appeared in the December 1978 issue (ibid., vol. 66, pp. 1619-1639, Dec 1978) was drawn from Thomas B. Sheridan and William R. Ferrek "Man-Machine Systems: Infomtion, Control and Decision Models of Humn Performance." Cambridge, MA: MIT Press, 1974, and is hereby acknowledged.
