Abstract
Many integrated circuits for large-scale application to telephone networks have been designed, including subscriber line interfaces, antialiasing filters, analog-to-digital-to-analog converters, and tone receivers. This paper summarizes in a unified fashion both interfacing and functional requirements for these devices, as well as the related circuit and technology approaches which have been utilized.
