Abstract
The concept of time lag and its use in the design of multilayer polymer coatings for packaging are discussed. Calculations for several variations of hypothetical two- and three-layer systems are included to illustrate the time-lag approach. The time-lag variations in a silicone(gel)-poly(imide) and epoxy-silicone(gel)-poly(imide) system are calculated to demonstrate the applicability in real systems
