Abstract :
Experimental results of crosstalk and losses of intersecting Ti:LiNbO3 waveguides are presented. To achieve lower losses and crosstalk the waveguides are tapered in the crossing area. While maintaining crosstalk of -30 dB the 6 degrees intersection angle of a conventional intersection can be reduced to 4 degrees by using a 25 mu m-wide taper.
