Fe
xSn
1-xamorphous alloys were obtained by an atomic deposition technique. Magnetization measurements and Mössbauer spectroscopy data show there is a critical composition (

) for the appearance of a ferromagnetic order. The magnetic Fe
xSn
1-xamorphous alloys (

) exhibit axial anisotropy with the easy direction almost perpendicular to the film plane. The hyperfine field distribution in the amorphous alloys can be considered to be mainly due to partial chemical disorder rather than coming from anisotropic dipolar contribution, which is different from the FeSn crystalline case.
