Abstract :
Active Networks (ANs) was founded to insert programmability in the intermediate part of the IP Network, in order to improve both the flexibility and performance of the Network through dynamic insertion of both servicios and protocols. This paper describes the activity of simulation performed in the Active Network DistRibuted Open Infrastructure Development project (ANDROID). In ANDROID an infrastructure of programmable network was implemented, scalable and manageable,to support its efforts in the Active Network approach. In the Active Network infrastructure of this project, there are 2 kinds of nodes: Active Routers(AR) and Active Servers (ASs). This paper mades a overview of the design and implementation of the simulation of the AS model. In this model was used the OPNET Modeler tool.
