Abstract :
It is shown that ideally infinite bandmatching in the Roy transformer can be achieved only when the lengths of the two transmission lines are equal. If the lengths of the transmission lines are small as compared to the minimum wavelength of operation, the frequency dependency of the insertion loss of the transformer may be minimised.
