Abstract
The effect of decarburizing process on the magnetic properties of the grain oriented 3% Si-Fe has been studied. Empirical expressions for the rates of decarburization under given conditions and grain growth during decarburization are proposed. Based upon these expressions, the functional dependence of magnetic properties of grain oriented 3% Si-Fe on the carbon content before secondary recrystallization and the time required for decarburization has been discussed. A two- -dimentional plot was drawn on which the decarburizing process could be easily determined to acquire materials of superior quality.
