Abstract :
The relationship between the stability factor and the numerical dispersion characteristics for the TD-FD method using the leap-frog approximation of Maxwell´s curl equations has been investigated. It is necessary to use a value close to the highest acceptable value of the stability factor to minimise the dispersion effect.
