Abstract
A novel circuit design for propagation of magnetic bubble and stripe domains has been designed and tested. This design incorporates magnetic features of segmented chevrons, which have two gaps per propagation period, where normal chevrons have one gap. Domain propagation can be realized by incorporating two in-plane magnetic fields, a steady state field, and an orthogonal oscillating field. The direction of domain motion is opposite to the direction of the steady state field. Domains may be propagated in a field accessed mode, and also in a current accessed mode when a conductor is placed over (or under) the chevrons. Bipolar current pulses provide the oscillating field in the current accessed mode. This segmented chevron design is a very attractive magnetically assisted circuit for domain propagation.
