Abstract :
A method to evaluate the power spectral density (PSD) of digital frequency modulation (DFM) signals with full and partial response signalling pulses of arbitrary shape is given. For rectangular pulse shapes the PSD computation is exact and for other complex pulse shapes the PSD can be computed to any desired accuracy. Previously published results for partial-response signals can be deduced as special cases.
