Abstract
In this article we shall review the development of superconductivity in China in the past ten years, and the present situation of research and applications. After a brief discussion on the research and production of superconducting wires, as well as on cryogenics technology, emphasis will be put on the application of superconducting magnets in the following areas: -Mirror confinement apparatus for CTR and D-shaped Tokamak coil; -Accelerator magnet and detector magnet for high energy physics experiments; -Superconducting magnet for MHD; -Superconducting generator; -Medium and small size magnet for scientific instruments and for magnetic separation. Finally, general outlook and perspectives for the future will also be presented.
