Abstract
The authors present a novel multifrequency wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) source based on a femtosecond fibre laser. The femtosecond pulses are linearly chirped and stretched in time by propagation through a fibre, so that 32 or more WDM channels can be defined and modulated sequentially in time by a single modulator
