Abstract
This paper presents the pointing vector calculation and direct axis impedance of solid pole synchronous motor by asynchronous operation, in which nonlinear magnetic characteristics is considered. Flux distribution and pointing vector have been calculated by the finite element method in this paper. The impedance calculation formula of the solid pole which has nonlinear magnetic characteristics was obtained analytically by using the solution of the two dimensional problem taking into consideration of the magnetic saturation of solid rotor induction motor. The pointing vector of the rotor surface should be obtained, and from the relationship between the pointing vector and the impedance, the impedance computing formula in the direct axis position is developed. Then, the impedance formula developed in this paper has been presented in per-unit system.
